Ski touring straight from the back door during the winter months.
Trails follow snowmobile corridors
Most of these routes follow groomed NH snowmobile trails - see the SledNH interactive trail map for the full network. They make for great cross-country skiing, but pull over and let sleds pass if you hear them coming. Corridor 17A passes close to the Penguin House, connected via frozen Locke Lake and Brindle Pond; Primary Trail 305 connects to Halfmoon Lake - both less than a mile from the house.
