3 Alton Hills

Gravel bike recommended

Distance

40.4 mi

Total ascent

3,402 ft

One of my favorite shorter rides, includes Hall's Hill which has a challenging 20% grade section and incredible views of Crystal Lake and blueberry fields from the top, then proceeds up the backside of Alton Mountain, where you get a fantastic view of Lake Winnipesaukee and down to Alton Bay for a scenic ride along the bay before returning back up Alton Mountain, by hugging Crystal Lake. There are some sections of gravel on this ride, but nothing really technical.
